What support is out there, and who actually qualifies.

Between federal schemes, NSW programs and network incentives, there's usually something that reduces the cost of an EV charging or solar project. Working out which ones apply to your site is the hard part.

Draft note for Atlas: program names, amounts, eligibility rules and closing dates change often and vary by state. Every figure on this page is a Confirm placeholder — fill them in from the current program guidelines before publishing, and add a “last reviewed” date. Nothing here should read as financial or tax advice.

Where support comes from

Four places worth checking before you commit.

Most projects draw on more than one. The mix depends on who owns the site, what sector you're in, and whether the charging is for your own vehicles or the public.

Federal

Commonwealth programs & tax measures

National-level grants and tax treatments aimed at fleet electrification, charging infrastructure and business energy efficiency.

Solar & storage

Certificate schemes for generation and storage

Solar and battery installations can attract certificate-based support that reduces the upfront cost, handled through your installer at the point of sale.

Practical help

We'll tell you what's worth applying for.

Some programs are worth the paperwork and some aren't. As part of your site assessment we'll flag which schemes your project plausibly fits, what evidence they need, and whether the timing works against your install schedule.

Getting the order right

Apply before you buy, not after.

The single most common way businesses miss out is signing a contract or starting work before an application is lodged. Most programs won't fund work already underway.

01

Scope the project

Site assessment and a quote you can attach to an application — most programs want a costed scope, not an estimate.

02

Check eligibility

Confirm the program is open, your entity type qualifies, and the site meets any location or access conditions.

03

Lodge before committing

Get the application in before signing the works contract. Retrospective claims are usually refused.

04

Install & acquit

We install, then provide the invoices, compliance certificates and photos most programs require to release funds.

Common questions

What businesses ask us about funding.

[CONFIRM — state whether Atlas prepares applications, assists with documentation only, or refers to a consultant.] We can always provide the costed scope, specifications and compliance documents an application needs.

Sometimes, but not always — many programs explicitly exclude projects funded by another scheme. This has to be checked against the specific guidelines for each program in the year you apply.

No. We're electrical contractors and suppliers, not tax agents or financial advisers. Anything on this page is general information about publicly available programs — check the treatment of a specific measure with your accountant.

Approved applications are usually honoured under the terms you were approved on, but funding rounds do close without notice. That's the main reason we recommend lodging early rather than waiting for a perfect scope.
